ABOUT AfTER
A f T E R is a collaborative project between designers Fleur Molenaar and Temo Gonzalez Moreno,
both College of the Arts Utrecht (HKU) graduates.
After is a project inspired and informed by the numerous post mortal rites and traditions of six of the world’s biggest religions. We have researched the funeral customs of the Buddhist, Chinese, Christian, Hindu, Islam and Jewish religions and met with experts in the fields of funeral care, theology and religious communities to construct a comprehensive information database.
We have designed collections of products for each of the religions, inspired by their post-mortal traditions and culture, and using the information we collected. In this manner we shed light on the different traditions of each of the cultures, relating to the passing of thier people, so as to emphasize their beauty and create space for dialogue to occur.
